The Feast of Trumpets:
This feast starts the fall feasts.
In leviticus 23: 24 we have a commandment to observe this feast.
It is also interesting that these feasts are yet to be fulfilled. The spring feast were fulfilled during Yeshua first coming and we believe the fall feast will fulfill his second coming. So it may be fulfilled something like this..when we hear the final trumpet and then the books are opened and a day of judgement begins and after that He comes to tabernacle with His bride.
The feast are known as rehearsals We rehearse these feasts because when these future events happen we will know what to do. This why it is also important to include your children as much as possible as they may be the ones who will be part of the fulfillment. A scripture in 1st Corinthians speaks of this anticipated event. 1Cr 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Also the one in the picture 1 Thess 4:16
This is why we watch for the new moon at this time so intently. Those watching for us in Israel make a special effort at this time. So just like we don't know what day or hour we will see the new moon, so it is when the trumpet of the day of Yah will sound. So we need to be ready.. get prepared. When this feast is fulfilled it may be just as Yeshua stated in Matthew 24: 37-42.
37 But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Master doth come.
Before the feast days in our home we practice the sounds of the shofar so we can distinguish the sounds. You can find examples of these sounds on the internet. They are the Teruah Shevarim, the Tekiah and the Tekiah Gadol. In our home we blow the sofar each day between the feast of trumpets and Yom Kippur and speak of a reason why it is blown. I have a page for each day and this in my Feast of Trumpets book so it is ready each year just to put on the table. This helps us get ready forYom Kippur. We let the children blow the shofar so they can learn how to make the different sounds.
It is time for us to say "Wake up o sleeper"
This is the time to have a special meal with some traditional foods such as apples and honey for a sweet new year. ( Tomorrow I plan on sharing a traditions meal plan) A time for family gathering so plan a nice dinner on the table with homemade decorations. We make round Hallah bread this time of year to celebrate the King of the Universe. The akeida of Isaac ( the binding of Isaac) story is read so have a discussion with your family about the story. You can make a crown of thorns from plants in the garden to represent the thicket the ram was caught in and also the crown of thorns that His Lamb wore during the crucifixion Then you can put a shofar in the middle and make it a centerpiece or table decoration for conversation and a reminder of the events during this time.
Yom Turah is also called the feast of trumpets and/or Rosh Hashanah
Also the feast is:
Prophetic:
“The days of awe" come right after this feast, is what we call the time between the Feast of Trumpets and Yom Kippur. During these ten days it is thought that the books of life are opened in heaven and it is during this time we seek forgiveness by soul searching and meditating on the sin in our lives, to get it out and confess it to our Elohim. Now we should do this on a regular basis as Yeshua blood is there to wash us clean. But some sin has to be dealt with as we have difficulty recognizing it as such. So during this time we ask Yah to reveal to us our sin so we can ask him to heal us and make us whole. This is a very serious time so take advantage of it as it can be true soul healing experience.
Here is a scripture from Revelation telling about the books.:
Rev 20:11-15 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before Elohim; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
So celebrate and start traditions in your home to rehearse and demonstrate the meaning of the feasts. If you are new to this I suggest you get a guide to celebrating the feasts such as the one I mentioned in yesterdays post. Just try it and don't worry about getting it right because experience is a good teacher. Yah will lead and guide us as we try to follow his ways.
