When  depression and sadness strike it sometimes creeps up on us and we sense it  coming, hiding in the background like a storm cloud in the distance. Or it  strikes suddenly, unexpected like a afternoon Florida thunderstorm but usually  lasts longer. For some it is like the colors around us change like when you put  on color tinted glasses and everything has the same color with no definition.

However  it comes, you know it. For years early in my life I suffered from this and one  day as I was reading Psalm 19 it came alive in my spirit as I connected with it.  As I read it and studied it I began to have faith to start walking it out then
my depression and sadness would go away as quickly as it
came.

We  need to take care of ourselves (our soul) at these times. We need to stop and  begin to pray for help to Yahweh and get back into His word and walk in His  paths because his instructions are perfect,( yes perfect) reviving the soul! (Verse 7) There are many helps from His word to heal us. Some of these  are how to eat the foods and herbs that assist in healing, some on commandments, instructions such as rest, exercise and others.

But  this scripture is wonderful to meditate on, take it apart, read each sentence  slowly and carefully. See how He is perfect, wonderful, bright and beautiful,  and He is your redeemer from sadness and depression if you will turn to Him at  those times.

The  Word of Elohim is real, living and will reach out an touch you. Read it again  and again till you understand it. We need to learn healing from Him.  Antidepressants do not heal you and will usually make it worse. You may need to  reach out for help to one who can watch over you but definitely turn to the  creator of your soul and find shalom.

Psalm  19
(New Living  Translation- I added the Hebrew names.)
For  the choir director: A psalm of David.

1 The heavens proclaim  the glory of Elohim. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they
continue to speak; night after night they make him known.3 They speak without a  sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone  throughout the earth and their words to the entire world. Elohim has made a home  in the heavens for the sun.5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his  wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.6 The sun rises  at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat. 7 The instructions of Yahweh are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of Yahweh are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8. The  commandments of Yahweh are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of  Yahweh are clear, giving insight for living. 9 Reverence for Yahweh is pure, lasting forever. The laws of Yahweh are true; each one is fair. 0 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.13 Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Master, my rock and my redeemer.

Proverbs 4:20-27
New Living Translation (NLT)

20 My child, pay attention to what I say.Listen
carefully to my words.21 Don’t lose sight of
them.Let them penetrate  deep into your heart,
22 for they bring life to those who find them,
and healing to their  whole body. 23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines
the course of your life. 24 Avoid all perverse talk;stay away from  corrupt speech.
25 Look straight ahead, and  fix your eyes on what lies before you.26 Mark  out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path.27  Don’t get sidetracked;keep your feet from following evil.

Here is link to a christian blog site that has some statistics on how having religion helps with depression. Remember what we need is a relationship with out Father not just religion.  HoweverI found the website informative. Here is the link to  the blog from which  I used the opening  image  http://prayersandapples.com/religion-acts-as-buffer-for-high-risk-depression/

My prayer for you is to have shalom (peace). We should not have depression as Yah children. Fight it, learn how to overcome it recognize it early and do the things He ( the Father) tells you to do. He LOVES you!! I LOVE you.

Pro 31:26 KJV - She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law ( Hebrew=Torah)  of kindness.

Today I was reminded how a kind word can change the tone of a tense moment. If we learn to speak with kindness to others just as we would want to be spoken to it can bring shalom for the situation.

As a good Father he gives us many an examples of kindness throughout scripture of how we should act. Psalms 117:2 KJV - For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of Yahweh endureth for ever. Praise ye Yahweh.

As we go through our day today lets plant some seeds of kindness along the way. If we begin to practice the words and think of kind things to say ahead of time it will be easier to say them when needed.

Sometimes we get all worked up about something and then become reactive. Sometimes we may need to make a point but using a kind tone may have more of an impact and will get an open ear instead of a shut down attitude. ( Which now you need to repair.)

Today I am thinking about hope. On my way to work this morning
it was a cold frosty sunrise of that pink and bright yellow/ orange sky that
looks like it goes a great distance which makes you draw your eyes to the sky
because of the bright colors. It reminded me of hope I think that is what hope
does when it draws our attention away from the everyday dramas of life to
meditate and think of the things we hope for.
We need to grow our hope
because as the morning sky fades and the sun rises so does our day and soon
another day has gone by on our dreams. We need to invest on our dreams each day.
Take time to write out some of the things you hope for and begin to pray over
them. Begin to see yourself in those roles (Walking by faith). Sometimes if you
look hard enough at this new you, you will see the courage in your new vision of
self to conquer old and bad habits that have you where you are today.

Something is holding you back from becoming what you know is the true you in our  Messiah. Ask Him to reveal those things to you and really open up to his voice  as it will come in many ways such as through someone who really cares about you,
during your worship service or even a bumper sticker, but somehow He will  communicate with you on what is holding you back from changing into what Messiah has for you regarding home, health, wealth, peace, joy etc. When he does  reveal it don’t harden your heart or convince yourself otherwise but begin to  work on visualizing yourself with the change He is prompting you to  make.Reading Romans 6 gives us an example of visualizing overcoming sin. This is the New Living Translation.
Romans 6:
1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of  his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we  continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with
Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were  buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by  the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. 5 Since we  have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he  was. 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin  might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we  died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. 8 And since we died  with Christ, we know we will also live with him. 9 We are sure of this because  Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer  has any power over him. 10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin.  But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. 11 So you also should  consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through  Christ Jesus. 12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to
sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil  to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but  now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is
right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer  live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of  God's grace. 15 Well then, since God's grace has set us free from the law, does  that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! 16 Don't you realize that you  become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin,  which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous  living. 17 Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly  obey this teaching we have given you. 18 Now you are free from your slavery to  sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. 19 Because of the weakness  of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you  understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and  lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be  slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy. 20 When you were slaves  to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. 21 And what was the  result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in  eternal doom. 22 But now you are free from the power of sin and have become
slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is  eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. [Rom 6:1-23 NLT]

When we have hope to change things in our lives so we can be more fruitful it may mean some things get pruned but  it also means we will have new growth and new fruit.

Shalom
D'Vorah

KJV Revelation Chapter 22:14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

NIV Revelation Chapter 22:14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the  tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.

Complete Jewish Bible Revelation Chapter 22: 14  How blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to eat from the Tree of Life and go through the gates into the city!

The Scripture version interprets Revelation 22: 14 “Blessed  are  those  doing His  commands, so   that   the   authority   shall  be theirs  unto  the  tree  of  life, and  to  enter through  the gates into the city.

As you can see there is a different opinion on how this verse is to be intrepreted. I go with the KJV and the scriptures as I feel that his commandments are a life giving process that we need to be participating in to grow closer to our Father.  The will of our
Father is to love one another and to obey and do his commandments.

We must walk this life one way or another so we might as well make it one that will do the most good. Following his commandments come with many blessing as stated in Deuteronomy 7:12-13 ( among many other verses). When we choose to follow his commandments we are choosing life as in Deuteronomy 30:15. This is a good life one with blessing and peace. You will become strong and able to withstand the wiles of this world and the enemy and even become strong against the flesh. The commandments help us with all of this as we grow in the relationship with our Elohim. One of the commandments which is to love the Lord your Elohim with all your heart, soul and strength, Deuteronomy 6:5 is where we should start. Our Messiah also as we grow in faith toward him helps us to understand the Father. Our love for Elohim is what gives us the desire to obey his commandments. We love Him because He first loved us. Give His love a chance.

The commandments are all though the Torah and some list have been made by renown Rabbi's and Torah students. See this link for more information on these lists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/613_Commandments. Also there is a list I use and here is the link to it. You can study these by category and I really received a blessing and a greater understanding by studying them with this list http://www.jewfaq.org/613.htm .

Make the commandments part of your daily life just as reading the bible should be. The commandments are for us they are the beacon to direct our way through this life. As the scripture says it will be life for us.
